Schilens Remains Out!!
The “procedure” Chaz Schilens underwent following the season on his left foot was significant enough that the wide receiver will probably be out until training camp.
Schilens, as he did during the mandatory minicamp, was a spectator as his teammates went through warmups, drills and team sessions.
Schilens had surgery at the time of the injury and disclosed there was a follow-up procedure at the mandatory minicamp.
“I think we’ll take our time with that, just to be smart,” Cable said. “I don’t want to do anything to set it back. If he’s there when we go to camp _ which he will be _ I’ll be happy with that.”

Raider Round the Bend
I read with bemusement and incredulity where Raider Coach Tom Cable stated he could see the top of the mountain from his primo vantage point.

San Diego Chargers.
September 14, 2009.
Groan.
There once was a time—long, long ago—when a game between the Oakland Raiders and the Chargers was anticipated and relished. We would drive for hours in Washington State to find a hilltop or riverbank that would allow radio transmission as our beloved (and sometimes reviled) Silver and Black did battle with the Powder-puff Blue. Fred Dean, Louie Kelcher, Dan Fouts, Charlie Joiner, Chuck Muncie, and Don Coryell were just a few of the names that come to mind.

And our beloved Oakland Raiders have already handled a majority of their business.
By signing Nnamdi Asomugha to a (then) record contract and making Shane Lechler the league’s highest paid punter, their off-season heavy lifting has already been accomplished.

The fan base and this board being a microcosm of the Raider fan base is almost hopelessly splintered. I thought that I'd do a brief chronology of the last 10 years so that we can look at the blame, credit, and some of the reasons why we are where we are on 11/4/2008.
This is my historical fact as I know it, read it, confirmed it....

All In
Al made a huge move yesterday...
In my opinion, he just went all in with the future of this organization. He made a huge bet and it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Cable needs to win at least 7 games for this to work out. A 6-6 record from here out will look OK, but I don't see a lot of season ticket holders re-upping.
